The Faculty of Nursing, University of Prince Edward Island has a sessional teaching opportunity in NURS 3050: Health Teaching, in the Winter Semester of 2020 academic year. This position is subject to final budgetary approval

NURS-3050 Health Teaching – Section II

In this course, students are introduced to theories and principles of teaching and learning within a primary health care context. The course focuses on the nurse's role as health educator and change agent in promoting healthier lifestyles and enhancing wellness through the use of an empowering approach. Students have an opportunity to apply theory and to develop teaching skills through participation in a variety of community-based teaching activities throughout the semester.

Lecture/Seminar:  Total 3 hours per week. Thursday (January 3 – April 30, 2020)

Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing or related health discipline. A PhD in Nursing or health field will be an asset. Previous experience in teaching is an asset. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
