After School Program Operations Student Assistant - Department of Athletics and Recreation
$18.70 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
September 1, 2026 – June 25, 2027
The Athletics & Recreation Department requires an Operations Assistant for the Panther Academy After-School program for the 2026-27 school year.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement program curriculum under the guidance of the Coordinator, Sales & Panther Academy
- Conduct all work in an enjoyable, presentable, and professional manner
- Demonstrate effective behavioral management skills and be prepared to address various behavioral issues
- Perform duties independently without direct supervision
- Submit daily reports to the Coordinator, Sales & Panther Academy
- Carry out additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience working with children, or in a camp or school setting
- Experience developing or leading educational or sports programming for children and knowledge of gym and outdoor games and activities is considered an asset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to be assertive when required
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, friendly, and courteous personality
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, children, and parents
- Ability to adapt easily to unexpected circumstances and additional responsibilities
- Must have Current CPR and AED certification or agree to obtain certification upon hiring
- Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check at personal expense upon hiring
