We are pleased to join Island Jazz in co-presenting the Virginia MacDonald Quartet in a concert celebrating the release of her debut album In Search Of … at Steel Recital Hall on Wednesday, July 8 at 7:30pm.

Virginia MacDonald is a Canadian-born, New York-based, Juno Award-winning clarinetist who has established herself as a leading voice of her generation. Joining her for this performance are stellar collaborators Jeff Johnston (piano), Mark Lewandowski (bass), and Anthony Michelli (drums).

With twenty-plus albums under her belt as a collaborator and sidewoman, MacDonald’s debut album serves as a launching pad for the next step of her musical journey. Comprised of six original compositions and two standards from the Jazz canon, the album is a testament to Virginia’s deeply personal, lyrical, and singular musical voice.
