The UPEI campus community is invited to celebrate diversity, culture, and global heritage at the annual Global Village event on Saturday, November 14, 2026. Organized by the UPEI International Student Office, the festivities will run from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm in McMillan Hall, the Student Day Lounge - Credit Unions of PEI, and the Concourse at the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

Global Village brings together international and domestic students to share their traditions and heritage with the wider UPEI and Prince Edward Island communities. Throughout the six-hour event, guests can explore student-hosted cultural booths, sample traditional foods from around the world, watch live cultural performances, and experience a cultural fashion show before closing the evening with music.

“The Global Village is a vibrant celebration of the diverse perspectives and traditions that enrich the campus,” says Erica Stanley, Senior International Student Advisor. “ It offers students a meaningful platform to share their heritage while fostering strong connections between international students, domestic students, and the broader Island community.”

As an international computer science student from Malaysia, Louis Lee knows how much it means for students to see their cultures celebrated far from home. Lee is also the Global Village 2026 Student Coordinator.

“Global Village gives students the chance to share their food, music, dance, and traditions with the whole campus, and it's been amazing to see so many countries and clubs get involved this year. We hope everyone comes out on November 14!”

There is no cost for this event, and all UPEI students, staff, faculty, and local community members are welcome to attend.
