Dr. Trevor Jain appointed National Scientific Chair for Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians
Dr. Trevor Jain, director of UPEI’s Paramedicine program, has been appointed National Scientific Chair for the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP) for a two-year term, becoming the first person from Prince Edward Island to hold this prestigious leadership position.
The National Scientific Chair provides leadership for the scientific and academic programs associated with CAEP’s national conferences and research activities. In this role, Dr. Jain will work with emergency physicians, researchers, educators, and trainees from across Canada to advance scholarship, knowledge translation, and innovation in emergency medicine.
CAEP is the national voice of emergency medicine in Canada, representing physicians and health-care professionals dedicated to improving emergency care through education, research, advocacy, and collaboration. As National Scientific Chair, Dr. Jain will help shape the organization’s scientific programming and support research initiatives that contribute to the advancement of emergency medicine nationwide.
Dr. Jain said the appointment reflects the strength of collaboration among health-care professionals, educators, and learners both on PEI and across the country.

I am particularly proud to represent UPEI and PEI in a national leadership role that supports emergency medicine research, education, and innovation across Canada.”
Dr. Jain noted that the appointment also highlights the growing contributions being made in PEI in the areas of paramedicine, emergency medicine, and health professions education.
During his term, Dr. Jain will help guide CAEP’s scientific and academic priorities while fostering collaboration among clinicians, researchers, and educators from coast to coast.
