UPEI hosts well-attended New Year’s Day Levee

The University of Prince Edward Island and the UPEI Alumni Association rang in the New Year at a levee attended by approximately 450 people on January 1.
Guests were greeted by Dr. Wendy Rodgers, president and vice-chancellor, UPEI, and Ian Reade; Ronnie McPhee, president, UPEI Alumni Association; and Luciana Quiroa Paredes, president, UPEI Student Union.
The festive event, which took place in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering Building, featured piano and vocal performances by UPEI music professor Sung Ha Shin-Bouey and her daughter Michelle.
The levee at UPEI was one of several held across the province to celebrate the New Year. Attending levees on New Year’s Day continues to be a popular annual activity for Islanders.
