Angela Marchbank, Athletics and Recreation
Angela is a driving force behind many wellness initiatives on campus. In November we saw another fantastic wellness event, the Self-Care Fair, that Angela put many hours of time and care into. Her dedication and enthusiasm for wellness and UPEI do not go unnoticed. Thank you for all that you do!
Darcy McCardle, Registrar’s Office
I am continually amazed at how good Darcy is at his job. He always has the answers to my questions, always responds promptly and with great detail, makes great suggestions, and leaves me confident in knowing what I need to do. He knows every aspect of course registration inside out, whether it’s transfer credits, challenges for credit, APCC procedures, or whatever else. It’s such a pleasure working with Darcy. UPEI is very lucky to have him! - Dale Sorensen
Luis Montoya, Facilities Management
Luis is a sincerely wonderful coworker and colleague. His work is impeccable, and he takes such great care to do jobs well. He is thoughtful, polite, and kind as he moves through his day. On top of excellence in his work, he is always friendly, offering smiles, cheerful good mornings, and a laugh when time allows. I am really grateful for the positive energy Luis brings to the workplace and for his efforts to keep Kelley Memorial Building running smoothly for all of us. Thank you so much, Luis!

Melanie is truly an indispensable colleague within the People and Culture team. Melanie is kind, collaborative, and always willing to help. I don’t know what we would do without her. Thank you, Melanie, for all the support you provide to the VPPC team and campus—you are so valued and appreciated. We are thankful to have you on our team!
Recruitment Team, Registrar’s Office
I would like to recognize that the UPEI Recruitment Team has demonstrated exceptional dedication, collaboration, and innovation in connecting UPEI with students locally and globally. Through their collective efforts—spanning international outreach, domestic engagement, and creative marketing initiatives—the team has strengthened UPEI’s reputation as a welcoming and globally connected university. They have not only achieved impressive enrollment results but also built meaningful relationships that reflect UPEI’s values of inclusivity, community, and academic excellence. Their work continues to make a tangible impact on the University’s growth and on students’ lives around the world.
Ellery Richardson, Marketing and Production
Ellery’s positive attitude and upbeat personality make him a great teammate and colleague. He offers constructive suggestions and a “can-do” spirit to all the jobs coming through our department and is just really awesome to work with. He’s a fantastic addition to our team, and I’m happy he’s here to help elevate the reputation of UPEI with his creative ability.
Andrea Rogers, Accessibility Services
Andrea joined the Accessibility Services team in January 2025 and has been a delight to work with ever since! She’s kind, thoughtful, funny, and comes up with great ideas. In addition to being a wonderful support to her students, she has been a fantastic colleague, often going out of her way to help in busy times.
David Taylor and Jeff Bowser, Faculty of Sustainable Design and Engineering
We’re recognizing Dave and Jeff for their exceptional contributions to the 2025 Field Hockey Canada U SPORTS National Championship hosted by UPEI Athletics and Recreation. Their creativity and dedication significantly enhanced our event, as they collaborated with us to develop and produce the Player of the Game Awards. The final product, a mini Field Hockey stick featuring the event logo on the right side, was truly impressive and added a special touch to our awards ceremony. Field Hockey Canada had never seen such an award before and was absolutely amazed by the result. Dave and Jeff’s efforts helped celebrate the achievements of our players in a meaningful way, and we are incredibly grateful for their commitment and hard work. - Bruce Donaldson
