Events and supports for students throughout the holidays
The following message was also emailed to students on December 18, 2025, on behalf of UPEI Student Affairs and the Office of Student Culture and Community Standards.
We recognize that some students may be spending the holiday break on campus or on PEI, away from family or friends. UPEI Student Affairs has compiled a list of services and supports that are available over the holidays.
Several UPEI departments—Campus Life, Residence Life, International Student Office, and Development and Alumni Engagement—have also organized a series of fun and festive holiday events for students to enjoy (also found in the link above).
The following events are open to all UPEI students:
December 21, 10:00 am: Cereal ‘n’ Toons, Room 142, Bill and Denise Andrew Hall
- December 23, 1:00 to 3:00 pm: Canvas and Cocoa—Join the Campus Life Lead Advisors in the Day Lounge, W.A. Murphy Student Centre for a guided “sip and paint” event. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies and take home a beautiful painting. Students also have the chance to win a prize. The UPEI Alumni Association is sponsoring this event.
- December 23, 6:00 pm: Cookie Decorating Contest, Room 142, Bill and Denise Andrew Hall
- December 27, 1:00 pm: Write a Holiday Card to Send Home—Join the UPEI Residence team to write a holiday card to send home to loved ones in Room 142, Bill and Denise Andrew Hall.
December 27, 4:00 to 5:00 pm: Holiday Dinner To-Go—A festive meal prepared for students living in residence as a takeaway offering, Wanda Wyatt Dining Hall
- December 27, 5:00 to 7:00 pm: Holiday Movie Night, Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall.
- December 29, 5:00 pm: DIY Craft Night, Room 142, Bill and Denise Andrew Hall
- December 31, 5:00 to 7:00 pm: Attend the Capital New Year Event—Celebrate New Year’s Eve with other UPEI students at the Capital New Year event in downtown Charlottetown. Departure point is the Day Lounge, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.
- January 1, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm: UPEI Annual New Year’s Levee, Room 128, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering building
- January 6, 4:00 pm: Bingo and Winter Drink Bar, Room 142, Bill and Denise Andrew Hall
- January 7, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm: Create Your Own Vision Board, Day Lounge, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.
Room 142 in Bill and Denise Andrew Hall is set up for casual drop-in throughout the holidays. All UPEI students are welcome to the planned events or simply to hang out, watch movies, do crafts, and play games.
