UPEI Panthers this Week (February 6–12)

UPEI Panthers student-athletes are looking forward to a full week of events at home and away from February 6–12.

Wednesday, February 8

7:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers (16-9-3) host the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (11-15-2). This is the last regular season home game, and graduating seniors TJ Shea, Troy Lajeunesse, Kyle Maksimovich, Conor MacEachern, Carson MacKinnon, Jordan Maher, Andrew Picco, and RT Rice will be recognized. The Panthers own a 3-1 record against Moncton and outscored them 11-8.

Friday, February 10

7:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Hockey Panthers (16-8-2) play the University of New Brunswick Reds (21-2-3) at home. UPEI lost two of three games to the Reds and have been outscored 7-4. This is North River Minor Hockey Association Sweetheart Tournament Night and UPEI Panthers Hockey invites all minor hockey players, coaching staff and families to enjoy AUS hockey. Minor hockey players can wear their team jerseys for free admission with $5 admission for parents and guardians.

6:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Basketball Panthers (11-5) are away in Nova Scotia to play the Cape Breton University Capers (7-9). The Panthers won the first two matchups against the Capers.

7:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers are away in Fredericton, New Brunswick, to play the University of New Brunswick Reds. The Panthers lost three of four games to the Reds and have been outscored 15-10.

8:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers (12-4) are away in Nova Scotia to play the Cape Breton University Capers (7-9). The Panthers won the first two games over the Capers.

Saturday, February 11

7:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Hockey Panthers host the Mount Allison University Mounties for the last regular season home game. Graduating seniors Ally Clements, Kelly Clements, Taylor Gillis, Lexie Murphy, Shaylin McFarlane, and Tiah Scichilone will be recognized. The Panthers won all three previous games against the Mounties, outscoring them 14-6.

Athletes from the UPEI Track and Field team will attend the Saint Mary’s University Open Track and Field meet in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

2:00 pm: The UPEI Women’s Basketball Panthers are away in Nova Scotia to play the Cape Breton University Capers.

4:00 pm: The UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers are away in Nova Scotia to play the Cape Breton University Capers.
