UPEI appoints Dr. Tarek Mady as Dean of the Faculty of Business
In a message to the campus community, Dr. Kathy Gottschall-Pass, interim Vice-President Academic and Research, announced that the UPEI Board of Governors has approved Dr. Tarek Mady as the Dean of the Faculty of Business, effective March 1, 2022 to February 28, 2028, as recommended by the Human Resources Committee.
“Dr. Mady held the position of Associate Dean at the UPEI Faculty of Business between 2017 and 2019 and has served as interim Dean since then,” said Gottschall-Pass. “I congratulate Dr. Mady on his appointment and look forward to continuing to work with him in this capacity.”
Dr. Mady holds a PhD in Marketing, with an emphasis in International Business from Old Dominion University (USA); an MSc in Finance from Louisiana State University (USA); and a BCom in Business Administration from the University of Alexandria (Egypt).
Dr. Mady's research interests include international marketing strategy, emerging markets, acculturation towards the global consumer culture, and attitudes toward the marketing function. He is the Senior Associate Editor for The Journal of Global Marketing and currently serves on the Editorial Review Boards of the International Journal of Emerging Markets and European Journal of International Management.
Before joining the Faculty of Business at UPEI in 2015, Dr. Mady held various academic and administrative appointments in Canada, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and the United States.
