The UPEI community extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Hung Min "Min" Chiang, retired professor of psychology, who passed away suddenly on November 24, 2020 at his home in Stratford, PEI. Dr. Chiang loved nature and was "a man of many hobbies", including writing. In 2006, he published the book, "Chinese Islanders: Making a Life in the New World", in which he brought the powerful stories of the early Chinese settlers on PEI to life.

Originally from Taiwan, Dr. Chiang came to PEI with his family in 1967, where he taught at Prince of Wales College and UPEI and was a favourite professor of many students until retiring in 1991.

Memorial donations may be made to UPEI's H. Min Chiang Award, an annual scholarship established in his honour. Read his obituary
