Updates re: Convocation/Winter Academic Semester

| University
Class of 2019 graduate at Convocation
The following message was sent to students, faculty, and staff by the Office of the Vice-President Academic and Research and the Office of the Vice-President Administration and Finance on November 5, 2020 via their @upei.ca emails.

Dear students, faculty, and staff,

At their October meeting, the University of Prince Edward Island Senate unanimously voted in favour of changing the dates for Convocation 2021 to later in May. These new dates will allow the University to better incorporate public health guidance as well to invite graduates from the Class of 2020 to participate (Convocation was postponed in May 2020 due to COVID-19).

Convocation ceremonies will be held as follows:

May 14, 2021–Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (pm)
May 26, 2021–Faculty of Arts (am); Faculty of Education (pm)
May 27, 2021–Faculty of Business (am); Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (pm)
May 28, 2021–Faculty of Nursing (am); Faculty of Science (pm)

Both undergraduate and graduate degrees for a particular Faculty will be presented at each ceremony.

More information about the time, location, and number of guests per student will be forwarded to the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 as soon as it becomes available.

In September, the University Senate unanimously voted in favour that UPEI will continue with a blended delivery model for the 2021 Winter Academic Semester. Students are encouraged to visit https://www.upei.ca/current-students regularly for the latest information about program delivery and faculty-by-faculty contact information.

Sincerely,

Dr. Katherine Gottschall-Pass
Vice-President Academic and Research (Interim)

Ms. Jackie Podger
Vice-President Administration and Finance
