The UPEI Health and Wellness Centre’s human papilloma virus (HPV) awareness campaign will tour the Island later this month, with presentations in Summerside, Montague, and Charlottetown.

At least 75 per cent of Canadians will have at least one HPV infection in their lifetime. HPV has been linked to cancer of the cervix, vulva, vagina, penis, anus, mouth, and throat. Anyone who has ever been sexually active is at risk for HPV and its complications. However, a vaccine is the best way to protect yourself. To learn more about HPV and to find out how to prevent yourself and your family from being affected by this serious health issue, we welcome you to attend a public information session on HPV prevention and awareness on the following dates:

  • • November 20, 6:30 pm, Montague (Montague Rotary Library, Located in the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre)
  • • November 25, 2:00 pm, Summerside (Credit Union Place, meeting room #2)
  • • November 26, 6:00 pm, Charlottetown (Murphy’s Pharmacy Community Centre, room #207)
