UPEI Athletics and Recreation is excited to announce the 2019 Mulligan Cup schedule and invites the community to come out and enjoy “the beautiful game”, August 30 to September 1, at the UPEI Turf Field.

The Mulligan Cup provides an excellent opportunity for coaches to make final roster decisions. This eighth annual cup honours Vince Mulligan, the varsity UPEI soccer and hockey coach throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The Cup has four participating schools this year: Université de Moncton, Mount Allison University, Holland College, and the University of Prince Edward Island.

“We always learn so much from these final pre-season games,” said Lewis Page, coach of UPEI Men’s Soccer. “They are fantastic preparation for the first league games.”

“This is a great opportunity to play in front of the home-town fans in what looks to be, weather wise, a beautiful weekend,” said Glen Miller, coach of UPEI Women’s Soccer. “The whole team has been putting in a committed work ethic, and we are all stoked to continue the journey.”

The AUS league openers for both UPEI soccer teams will take place on the road on September 6, when the men's and women’s teams take on St. Francis Xavier University. Both teams play their home opener against Acadia on September 13.
