Join Dr. Patrick Leighton for a seminar entitled "Parasite co-invasion and the emergence of Lyme disease in Canada," on Tuesday, February 19 at 2:00 pm in AVC room 343N. Dr Leighton is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Montreal. He obtained a PhD in wildlife ecology at McGill University before moving into the area of disease ecology and epidemiology during postdocs at University of Montreal and University of Toronto. His research focuses on the effects of climate and landscape structure on the spread of parasites and pathogens, and in particular the recent emergence of Lyme disease in Canada, which he will talk about today. As a professor, he has been a key player in the creation of a new masters-level program in Veterinary Public Health, offered at the University of Montreal since summer 2012. Everyone welcome!
