The UPEI Panthers are looking forward to a full week of hockey, basketball, and track and field at home and away.
Dr. Callum Beck, a sessional instructor in religious studies at the University of Prince Edward Island, has been awarded a $7,000 SSHRC Exchange Publication Award for his monograph, The Belfast Riot of 1847.
The University of Prince Edward Island congratulates the 95 student-athletes who earned U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian status for the 2022–2023 season. This number represents 49.5 per cent of UPEI’s 192 varsity student-athletes.

The UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week for January 8–14, 2024, are Bianca Boutilier (women’s track and field) and Kaleb Pearson (men’s hockey).
Dr. Pat Murphy, an assistant professor in biology at UPEI, has received a 2023 Emerging Scholar Research Grant from the Canadian Cancer Society for his research into the role of bioactive metabolites in breast cancer. The grant is valued at $600,000 over five years.
