Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The UPEI Panther Athletes of the Week for November 14–20 are Lauren Rainford (women’s basketball) and Elias Cohen (men’s hockey).

The University of Prince Edward Island has been awarded funding through the 2024 Canadian Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship program to continue its work with smallholder dairy farms in Kenya.

| Department Updates

UPEI has secured space at 155 Belvedere Avenue, Suite 202 (the former Island Coastal location) to house the Faculty of Medicine faculty and staff while the new Faculty of Medicine and Interprofessional Health Training Centre building is under construction at the north end of campus.

The inaugural Shannon K. Murray Lecture on Hope and the Academy, presented by Dr. Shannon Murray at UPEI on September 5, is airing on CBC Radio’s national program Ideas on Monday, November 13, at 8:00 pm.

The University of Prince Edward Island is reviving its popular Research on Tap series with a presentation titled “Versatile applications of AI in chemistry and education” on November 16 at 6 pm at The Fox & Crow, W.A. Murphy Student Centre at UPEI.
