Description:Awarded to the student obtaining the highest mark in Theater Studies 244, in memory of Floyd Trainor, an artist in the Graphics Department at the University of Prince Edward Island. Equally merited,
Background:Floyd Trainor was a graphic artist employed by UPEI in the graphics department and was a member of CUPE Local 1870. He was a well known graphic illustrator and artist when he was employed at UPEI. When he died, CUPE 1870 wanted to create an award in his name to be awarded to a deserving UPEI student. It was felt that a prize for the studio arts course was an appropriate way to remember Floyd and his art.
