| Background: | A native Islander, Dr. James (Jim) Carter is known as a visionary business and community leader. He attended Prince of Wales College and UPEI. Having worked for Syncrude Canada Ltd. for 28 years, his work has contributed to improvements in environmental performance, workplace safety and strengthening relations with aboriginals. His wife, Dr. Lorraine Bray, is a Psychologist. Together, they have six adult children and reside in Alberta. With a deep affection for Prince Edward Island, and respect for the importance of supporting students as they strive for excellence, Drs. Carter and Bray pledge $100,000 to create this endowed fund while concurrently funding an annual $3,500 scholarship. |
