Come help the UPEI Registrar’s and Student Affairs’ staff in hosting an unprecedented, sold-out conference for CACUSS and ARUCC at the Delta this June. Over 900 members from both the Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS) and the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC) are gathering June 17 - 20 and we need your help.

Shifts will be 4 hours long in areas such as registration/information tables and helping delegates navigate the conference. We have a comprehensive and engaging program that volunteers will be able to check out, including the keynote, Actor, Writer, Activist, Comedian and Multiple Award-Winning TV and Radio Personality, Candy Palmater. Concurrent sessions will be delivered by Canadian and International Student Affairs professionals and faculty, exploring topics such as Indigenizing campuses, equity and diversity, campus mental health, academic advising, adapting to new marijuana legislation and much, much more.

Check out the conference program and if you have any questions, please contact Anne: ambartlett@upei.ca. To volunteer, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Tanya: tbjackson@hollandcollege.com

As an instructor, you’ve set up a syllabus that clearly explains your expectations for where students will end up. Then you set them on the journey to that destination. However, some will get off track along the way. The information you provide, how you provide it and when you provide it will be key to getting them back on the right path or in keeping them on the right path.

In this workshop instructors will learn strategies for the use of feedback and rubrics that they can use to accompany student assessments. This workshop will take place on Thursday, May 17th from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in Room 265 of the Robertson Library and is put on by the E-Learning Office. REGISTER

Applications for NSO leaders, volunteers and Point People are open and all returning UPEI students are encouraged to apply!

Volunteering at New Student Orientation in the fall is a great opportunity to make friends, develop your leadership skills, and welcome new students to the UPEI community!

The deadline to apply is May 20th, so please apply before then. Contact nso@upei.ca with any questions.

The School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences welcomes the campus community to a tenure-track faculty candidate presentation by Mr. Kyle Harrison, PhD candidate, on May 3 at 11:00 am in the Cass Science Hall, Room 101.
