Applications are invited for two (2) part-time ten (10) month term positions starting August 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, at the Assistant Professor rank with the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program in clinical psychology (https://www.upei.ca/programs/doctor-of-psychology), and the broader Department of Psychology, at the University of Prince Edward Island. These two part-time term positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

The positions support primarily graduate teaching and student consultation within the PsyD program.

Our PsyD program is built on a scholar-practitioner model. The program is infused with a critical lens, promoting methodological pluralism, and the integration of theory, research, and practice across individual and cultural diversities. The Department recognizes the importance of understanding individuals from their cultural, social and community contexts, and thus, is committed to training professionals who can engage helpfully with peoples who have been neglected or suppressed. The program is also home to the UPEI Psychology Training Clinic which serves as the primary training facility for students in the first two years of the program before students transition to external placements in the community.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include a completed doctoral degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology including engagement with clinical child psychology; evidence of successful teaching; evidence of scholarly achievement commensurate with rank; eligibility for registration with the PEI Psychologists Registration Board as a Psychologist or Psychologist Candidate, such registration being a condition of employment.
