Island Studies (IIS and MAIS) and the Master’s in Cleantech Leadership Program (Faculty of Graduate Studies) at the University of Prince Edward Island invite applications for a Graduate Research Assistant for 22 weeks starting as soon as possible.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Researching course content for Policy and Equity courses for the Master’s in Cleantech Leadership program
  • Researching course content for the Minor in Island Studies
  • Responding to student inquiries
  • Writing content for websites and social media pages
  • Updating mailing lists
  • Organizing meetings, Island Lectures Series, and other events
  • Preparing budget reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a student enrolled in a graduate program at UPEI
  • Strong communication skills, with emphasis on clear and concise written communication for professional purposes and able to adjust writing based on feedback
  • Experience with MS Office and Google Suites, with the ability to organize information using templates in MS Word and Excel
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of Island Studies, cleantech, or climate change (science, policy) would be a definite asset
  • Event planning experience would be an asset

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
