Faculty member Dr. Rachelle Gauthier (Faculty of Education) is seeking one bilingual (French/English) research assistant for 10 hours a week to work on various projects involving the Acadian and francophone community of Prince Edward Island.

Responsibilities of this job (in both languages) may include:

  • Conduct and organize literature searches/reviews
  • Create and maintain an annotated bibliography
  • Assist with qualitative data collection (focus groups, interviews, etc.)
  • Conduct transcription of recordings, as necessary
  • Assist with preliminary data analysis
  • Assist in writing article(s) for publication
  • Assist with writing abstracts for conferences
  • Assist in the development of visual supports for dissemination of results

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English
  • Experience with literature reviews
  • Experience and ease in working with people
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent writing/editing skills
  • Ability to work independently

Preferred attributes:

    • Knowledge and interest in bilingualism, sociolinguistics, second language learning

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
