The Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development is seeking applications for the position of Student Assistant. Reporting to the Program Officer, this position will primarily focus on assisting with the delivery of professional development programs, both in-person and online.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist OCEPD staff with the successful delivery of professional development programming.
  • Contribute to research and/or data entry tasks as required.
  • Correspond with UPEI faculty, staff and professional development participants in a professional manner.
  • Assist with the tracking of attendance and participant feedback survey statistics.
  • Provide technical assistance to participants using Zoom for online programming where required.
  • Monitor the delivery of online programming.
  • Communicate regularly with full-time staff regarding programming needs, participant comments and suggestions.
  • Other duties as required to support the activities of the UPEI Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The successful candidate must be a strong communicator and will be familiar with working in a post-secondary educational environment.
  • This position requires considerable computer, organizational and administrative skills, along with very strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work independently, adhering to a set schedule for program delivery, while also being comfortable working as a member of a team.
  • The successful candidate will be adaptable and flexible to adapt to changing needs within a fast-paced work environment.

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
