The Office of Recruitment and First Year Advisement is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to lead our domestic recruitment team. We are seeking applications from qualified individuals to provide leadership and support to the domestic recruitment and advising office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director of Recruitment, this position will lead the domestic recruitment team within the Recruitment and First Year Advisement and International Student Office in the Student Experience Hub. In addition, the incumbent will identify student retention needs and take initiatives to implement retention strategies. The position will work closely other campus units to gather information relevant to the university’s recruitment and retention efforts. The position oversees the planning and implementing the plans for recruitment and retention of domestic students.

Supervise and implement domestic recruitment and new student engagement activities in the areas of:

  • Plan and attend domestic recruitment activities in PEI and other regions in Canada
  • Monitor prospective student inquiries and provide updates on student application and admissions status for domestic students
  • Gather information on enrollment and retention trends and identify measures to improve enrollment and retention rates
  • Manage domestic recruitment budget and related assets for the team
  • Mentor and supervise a team of domestic recruiters/advisers in the Recruitment and First Year Advisement Office
  • Oversea recruiters/advisers and NSO team expenses, claims and other transactions
  • Liaise with the domestic admissions office to follow up on application files 
  • Oversee date entry into the university CRM/Recruit system to ensure clear, transparent, and efficient processes  
  • Plan and implement student engagement activities, such as Open House and High School Counselors Day; organize and deliver registration events for prospective students  
  • Participate in regional recruitment associations and represent UPEI on regional and national recruitment activities
  • Performing other related duties as required for efficient functioning of the domestic recruitment office   

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree program in a related office program with at least 3 years of related office experience
  • Experiences in student recruitment, advising, and student engagement activities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to accomplish tasks under pressure and to deal with interpersonal conflicts 
  • Has comprehensive knowledge and skills in database analysis and data management
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize task in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with the university environment, experience with CRM software, and familiarity with academic regulations and procedures would be considered assets
