Shannon Atkins (left), daughter of the late Gerry Gillis, presented Academic All-Canadian Andrea Archibald with the inaugural Gerry Gillis Memorial Scholarship in Athletics at a dinner hosted for UPEI’s 49 Academic All-Canadians on Wednesday, November 18. Click here for more information.  

Our fourth-year nursing students are assisting with H1N1 vaccination clinics in November. The School of Nursing has made 55 students available to work in public health offices in Charlottetown, Summerside, and Souris, and in various schools across PEI. Nichole Miles, Sara McAlduff, and Amanda Gillis worked in the Charlottetown Public Health Office. They are pictured here with public health nurse Marie Walsh. 

Governor General Michaëlle Jean presented UPEI President Wade MacLauchlan with an insignia of membership in the Order of Canada at a ceremony in Rideau Hall on November 5. The Order of Canada recognizes Canadians for outstanding lifetime achievements. For information, click here
