Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Workshop - September 19
Trouble finding a car parking space upon arriving at work? New car parking spaces taking up land you'd like to keep as green space or for planned new constructions? Concerned about rising gas prices? Alarmed by climate change? You might want to consider Transportation Demand Management.
Workshop agenda: What is TDM? - fundamental principles; Why do TDM? - how your organization can benefit from TDM:  Financial rewards of TDM - how your organization can achieve substantial savings through TDM? How have organizations benefitted from TDM? - case studies from Canadian universities which are implementing TDM; What is involved in TDM? - process, practical implications, costs.

This workshop will be presented by Michael Skene, President, Boulevard Transportation Group, Victoria, BC on Tuesday, September 19, 7:00-9:00pm in Lecture Theatre A at the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI. The public is welcome to participate.

Sierra Youth Coalition Sustainable Campuses Conference
The Sierra Youth Coalition 8th National Sustainable Campuses Conference will be held at UPEI September 28 - October 1. Over 150 students from across Canada, including the nation's leading student sustainability activists will be on campus to participate in 3 days of workshops, activities and keynote speakers. It promises to be a high energy, stimulating event. Watch for a tree-planting project on-campus as a legacy of the conference. The conference is still seeking cash contributions to assist with covering costs. Any amount will help.
