The UPEI Panther basketball teams are hosting their final home games before the holiday break on November 22 and November 23. In support and celebration of the holiday season, a few events will be taking place during both games. On Friday, November 22, Panther fans will be treated to a Salsa dance halftime showcase during the men's basketball game. On Saturday, November 23, fans are asked to bring a teddy bear for a teddy bear toss, with all bears being donated to the QEH children's ward. Donations to the UPEI Campus Food Bank will also be collected. In addition, fans will be treated to giveaways, promotions, and entertainment! Come out and cheer on your UPEI Panthers as they take on the Dalhousie Tigers! Game times: Friday, November 22- UPEI vs. DAL: women's game at 6:00 pm, men's game at 8:00 pm. As part of our Wellness Wednesdays, we are wanting to get you movin’ and groovin’! We will be having a ZUMBA-THON at lunch starting at 12:00 pm on November 20. We ask that each department on campus come dressed in a group color. The department that has the most enthusiastic group will win a $100 gift card to Chartwells! The UPEI Wind Symphony will perform one of its most ambitious Fall Symphonic Recitals on Thursday, November 21 at 7:30 pm at St. Dunstan's Basilica. Featuring several masterworks for Wind Band, including David Gillingham's Concerto for Marimba, the venue of St. Dunstan's will provide architectural and aesthetic beauty complementing the Wind Symphony's performance for all to enjoy. Admission, $10 Adults/Seniors and $5 Students, may be acquired at the door.

Join us tonight for the very first Research on Tap event that showcases the research of UPEI's amazing graduate students! The event starts at 7 pm in the Wave. The first discussion will be led by Hailey Lambe, a masters of biology student and research assistant with the PEI Urban Fox Research Project. Her talk is titled: The Trials and Tribulations of Tracking Red Foxes in the City. Bonnie Stewart, a PhD student in the Faculty of Education, will lead the second discussion of the evening, entitled The Rules of Engagement: When Scholars Meet Social Media. Sound interesting? Presented by the UPEI Student Union, the UPEI Graduate Student Association, and the Vice-President Research and Graduate Studies.

On December 7, Curling Funspiel will take place at the Charlottetown Curling Club. Cost is $20/person, free drink with non-perishable food donation to UPEI student food bank. two 6-end games with early draw times at 9:00 am and 12:00 pm; and late draw times at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. UPEI Student Affairs, in partnership with the Department of Physics, is pleased to host a presentation by Canadian Space Agency Astronaut David Saint-Jacques on Thursday, November 28 at 11:30 am in the W.A. Murphy Student Centre’s McMillan Hall. Dr. Saint-Jacques will take attendees on the learning journey that led him to become a Canadian astronaut and talk about his training. He will also give an overview of Canadian Space Agency projects, and will share some insights on future opportunities for students.
