Both the signed hard copy and electronic protocol submission must be submitted by the deadline date. · Submit one copy of original protocol with signature to AVC - North Annex, Biomedical Sciences Dept., Rm 2302 · Submit an electronic copy to animalcare@upei.ca Those protocols received after the deadline will be reviewed the following month. Registration for Specialty Fitness Programs is required. Please register by contacting Panther Central at (902) 566-0368 or drop by the Sports Centre. Space is limited. Fee: Members $51 + HST. Non-members $60 + HST. Speed training and TRX - six-week program: This program involves interval training and a speed portion around the indoor track. You will increase your fitness, burn fat, and improve your tone. Dates: November 18-December 23. Tuesdays Group-6:30–7:15 am. Instructor-Tracey Gairns-Brioux. Cardio & Cycle - six-week program: Get ready to ride steadily and consistently with heavy resistance. Strength rides increase muscular and cardiovascular strength enabling you to be a powerful climber. The class will also challenge your aerobic base through interval sprints and maximum speed. Dates: November 19-December 17. Wednesdays Group- 5:00-5:45 pm. Instructor-Tracey Gairns-Brioux.

Members of the UPEI community are invited to review the following call out, and connect with a commendable student(s) they feel would be deserving of a nomination for this fellowship: The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada are proud to announce the Call for Nominations for the 2015 3M National Student Fellowship. The 3M National Student Fellowship honours up to ten students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their lives and at their college or university. These students embrace a vision of quality education that enhances their academic experience and beyond. The Fellowship is open to full-time, post-secondary undergraduate college or university diploma or degree program students registered at a Canadian institution. Candidates must be enrolled in their first undergraduate program, and not be in their first or final year. Each cohort member will: * Receive an award of $5,000 to be spent at their discretion. * Join the others at the June 2015 STLHE Conference at SFU and UBC (June 16 to 19) where they will also participate in a 3M National Student Fellowship retreat. * Receive a contribution toward the cost of conference travel and accommodations. * Develop a cross-Canadian collaborative project to enhance teaching and learning at the post-secondary level. Submission Deadline: Nominations should be submitted electronically on or before Monday, January 12, 2015, 5pm EST. Dr. Daphne Gill will present a seminar called "Do you hear what I hear? Improving clinical relevance in the behavioural assessment of animal models" on Tuesday, November 18 at 3:30 pm in AVC Lecture Theatre C. Dr. Gill is a candidate for adjunct and graduate faculty status in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. She is currently working with Neurodyn Life Sciences Inc., as a Director of Operations and also a sessional lecturer in the Department of Biology. Everyone is welcome to attend.
