Research Interests:  My doctoral research was focused on the notion of catholicity in the work of Frederick Denison Maurice, a nineteenth century English theologian. I continue to research in the field of catholicity and the place of Maurice in nineteenth century British theology. I have a range of interests in Catholic theology which include Christian doctrine, historical theology, faith & culture, ecumenical theology & inter-religious dialogue and Christian mysticism. I am particularly interested in the dialogue between Christian doctrine and contemporary culture and the doctrine of God in the writings of Christian mystics.

Short Biography:
I studied English and Political Science at the undergraduate level and following that I served as a parish priest in the Diocese of St. Catharines.  I began doctoral studies at the Toronto School of Theology with an interest in modern Christian theology and a focus in doctrine and historical theology.  After graduating from the University of St. Michael College, Toronto where I specialized in Systematics, I received an appointment under the auspices of the Pope John XXIII Chair of Studies in Theology to teach in the Catholic Studies Programme at St. Thomas University, Fredericton, where I designed and taught courses in the area of theological foundations, doctrine, faith & culture, and mysticism.
