A cornerstone in the natural sciences and a foundation for research and development in the high-tech sector, Physics is an exciting and rewarding field of study. It explores many of the deeper mysteries of the universe and can lead to a wide range of intriguing career and employment opportunities.
Within the Physics Department at UPEI, we provide excellent undergraduate programs to our students, including BSc Honours, Major, and Minor degrees. In addition, our thriving Co-operative Education program provides valuable work experience for students in an array of private- and public-sector settings across Canada and abroad, including the National Research Council Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics in Victoria, BC, Fiber Connections in Summerside, PEI, and The Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, NS.
Our students benefit from small class sizes, dedicated faculty, and a very active and friendly Physics Student Society, as well as opportunities to participate in exciting research projects in experimental and theoretical physics.
We are located in the recently renovated Duffy Science Centre. If you would like further information, please give us a call or visit the department for a tour. Our faculty would be happy to show you around.
