The 2015-2016 competition for Fulbright Canada’s undergraduate exchange program, the Killam Fellowships Program is now open. The Killam Fellowships Program is a unique exchange opportunity that offers Canadian undergraduate students the chance to spend either one semester or a full academic year studying at a university in the United States. The fellowship carries a value of $5,000 US for one semester, and includes a health coverage allowance. The program also includes enrichment seminars in the fall and spring that are held in Ottawa, ON, and Washington, DC, respectively, as well as funding to travel within the United States to support students pursuing additional cultural experiences.
This is a very prestigious award – everyone is encouraged to apply – UPEI is GUARANTEED one successful candidate under the direct exchange program.

This award is offered to a full-time student who has submitted a written essay detailing his/her interest in studying abroad, how the experience will influence his/her academic and personal aspiration and what being an ambassador for Charlottetown means to them. UPEI has exchange agreements with a number of universities outside of Canada. These exchange agreements permit students to study at another institution and have his or her credits transferred back to UPEI. The student is studying under a letter of permission, therefore paying tuition and fees to UPEI.
