The Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island has openings for sessional instructors to teach the following courses:

ED 6260-94 TECHNOLOGY: LEADERSHIP IN LEARNING

This course provides an opportunity for students to examine and critique current research trends in information and communication technology in education. Leadership models for the implementation of technology plans are studies and evaluated. A major portion of work for this course takes place in an on-line learning environment.

This is a three semester-hour course offered on-line to students in our MEd Focus on 21st Century Teaching & Learning (Online) program from September 5 to November 30.

ED 6140-10 THEORIES OF RESEARCH AND LEARNING

In this course, students address the role of theory in educational research. The aim is to familiarize graduate students with various theoretical frameworks including theories and principles of learning.

This is a three semester-hour course offered on campus to students our MEd Focus on Global Perspectives from January 3 to February 11, on Wednesdays, from 8:30am to 11:20am.

Qualifications:

A graduate degree in education, a Bachelor of Education degree, and a successful record of school teaching in the K-12 context are required.  For applicants without school-based experience in the Canadian public K-12 system, teaching in other contexts relevant and appropriate to the position will be considered. Where courses are offered on-line using multi-media technologies, applicants will normally be able to demonstrate successful on-line teaching experience.  Candidates who do not have previous online teaching experience must be open to and willing to do extra training for this delivery model, and without additional compensation.

In addition, candidates applying to teach graduate courses will normally have established expertise, and successful leadership and/or teaching experience in a context related to the foci of the cohort.

In all instances, qualified applicants on the UPEI Sessional Roster of the Faculty of Education will be given priority. 

THE OFFERING OF THESE COURSES IS CONDITIONAL PENDING FINAL ENROLMENT NUMBERS. ALL SESSIONAL COURSES ARE SUBJECT TO THE FINAL BUDGETARY AND ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL.
