Student Research Assistant - Applied Human Sciences - Faculty of Science

The Department of Applied Human Sciences is looking for an enthusiastic student research assistant to work during the summer months of 2018.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaison with health professionals (e.g. Community Dietitians, Public Health Nurses, etc.)
- Assist in developing data collection tools, ethics protocols, health promotion materials
- Assist in research related activities (e.g. organize data collection schedule, conduct interviews and focus groups, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports)
- Assist with the organization, promotion and collection of feedback throughout the research project
- Prepare and lead workshops and other dissemination activities related to research findings
- Other tasks and duties as emerge or are assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Research experience in qualitative and quantitative methods
- Excellent writing skills including proposal preparation and/or publication experience
- Excellent office and event organizational skills
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, trouble shoot and manage time in an independent work setting
- Experience working in a health related setting
- Experience with nutrition screening
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
