The Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from creative, innovative, and versatile educators for a six month term position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  To support our small and vibrant Faculty and thriving Bachelor of Education (BEd), Master of Education (MEd), and Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies (PhD) programs, we are seeking a colleague with expertise in a combination of two or more of the following: Integrated Arts, Early Childhood, Inclusive Education, Educational Leadership in Nunavut, International and Comparative Education, and/or 21st Century Teaching and Learning to join us on December 3, 2018, pending budgetary approval.

The UPEI Faculty of Education is committed to developing compassionate, collaborative and innovative educational leaders by building just and equitable relationships in local and global communities.  We offer 12-month Bachelor of Education programs in English and in French with specializations in Indigenous, International, and Adult Education, all with a strong focus on diversity, equity and social justice. Course- and thesis-based streams of our Master of Education in Leadership and Learning on campus, online, and in blended formats provide experienced educators in any field with the knowledge and skills to become effective educational leaders through scholarship, research and practice. Our PhD allows for creativity and scholarship at the highest level, and is highly regarded by educators across the country and internationally.

The successful applicant will teach in the BEd, MEd and/or PhD programs.

Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will hold a doctoral degree in education or in a related field. A Bachelor of Education degree and a successful record of K-12 teaching is essential. Experience teaching in a university context is an asset. Preferred applicants will have experience in online teaching, a sound understanding of contemporary critical issues in education, demonstrated exemplary collaborative skills, and the desire and commitment to make a difference.
