The Department of English invites applications for the position of Sessional Lecturer to teach one (1) section of English 3750 (Middle English Literature) in the Winter 2019 semester (January 2 – April 30, 2019).This position is subject to budgetary approval.

ENGLISH 3750 MIDDLE ENGLISH LITERATURE

This course introduces Middle English Literature from the Norman Conquest to 1500. Students explore the major medieval genres, such as lyric, dream vision, romance, allegory, debate, and devotional literature through the study of authors such as the Gawain poet, the fourteenth-century Mystics, Langland and Malory.

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 12:30 – 1:20 pm

Qualifications:

Applicants for this position should have a minimum of a Master=s degree in English Literature, with a specialization in Medieval Literature, and teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a PhD in English Literature, with a specialization in Medieval Literature. Preference will also be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
