Sessional Instructor - Faculty of Nursing (Winter 2018)
The Faculty of Nursing, University of Prince Edward Island has a sessional teaching opportunity in NURS 2230 Adult Nursing: Transitions in Health, in Winter 2018 academic year. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
NURS 2230 ADULT NURSING: TRANSITIONS IN HEALTH
In this course, the student focuses on the experience of illness and the impact of illness, both acute and chronic, on the hospitalized client. The primary focus is the individual client; however, the individual is considered within the context of the family. Each student has clinical rotations working with adults in a hospital setting who are experiencing an acute episode of illness or an exacerbation of a chronic illness. Students learn to apply the principles of primary health care to nursing practice in the acute care setting.
Hours per week; Lecture - 3 hours - Monday and Friday – 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing and RN designation with the Association of Registered Nurses of PEI (ARNPEI) is required. Strong expertise in medical/surgical nursing required. Previous experience in teaching is an asset.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.
