Every week, UPEI Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. This week’s UPEI Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 18 to 24 are Charlotte Branchflower (women’s rugby) and Ehab Moustafa (men’s soccer).

Branchflower is a first-year science major from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a fly half on the UPEI women’s rugby team. She recorded a try and scored ten points for the Panthers in their semi-final game against St. Francis Xavier. “Charlotte had her best AUS performance of the season,” said head coach James Voye. “She has really matured and developed more confidence as a player this season. Congratulations on your first AUS try, and being named Player of the Game and now UPEI Athlete of the Week!”

Moustafa is a first-year kinesiology student from Stratford, PEI, and a striker on the UPEI men’s soccer team. He scored a picture-perfect goal against Memorial University and played well in a 1–1 draw with Saint Mary’s University. “Ehab is a real physical presence with a good touch around the goal,” said head coach Lewis Page. “He showed all those attributes in both our games this weekend.”
