Search for Chancellor now under way

The University of Prince Edward Island sincerely thanks Chancellor W.E. 'Bill' Andrew, upon his completion of two terms of dedicated service to the University.

UPEI has now begun the search for an outstanding individual to fulfill the terms of this prestigious role and invites nominations for the position of Chancellor for a renewable, four-year term ending June 30, 2017.

The Chancellor is the titular head of the University, confers all certificates, diplomas, and degrees, is a member of the Board of Governors, and acts as an important liaison between the University and the wider community. A distinguished person with an expressed interest in and commitment to the University, the Chancellor reflects UPEI's spirit and vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong public presence and profile, having demonstrated excellence in his/her chosen field and in overall service to the community at large. Current UPEI employees or students are not eligible.

Nominations should include the nominee's city/town and province of residence, profession, relationship to UPEI and the wider PEI community, and involvement in the private and/or public sector, as well as biographical information that would assist the selection committee.

Nominations must be forwarded in confidence, no later than November 22, 2013, to chancellorsearch@upei.ca or in care of the Board of Governors, Don and Marion McDougall Hall 225, University of Prince Edward Island, 550 University Avenue, Charlottetown, PE, C1A 4P3.
