Academic Planning Public Consultation, April 8

Posting Date(s)
NOTE: There is a change of location for this session, it will now take place in the Health Sciences Building, Room 105 on April 8 from 3:30-5:00 pm. The academic planning process is meant to build on the reflection, wayfinding, and planning that began with the work done on the UPEI Strategic Plan. The Academic Planning Group is currently in its fifth month of work since being created by Senate. We are currently still collecting data through public consultation and reviews being conducted by programs on campus. We expect to present our plan to Senate for the first Senate Meeting of the 2015-2016 academic year in September 2015. The Academic Plan that is shaping up from our analysis of the data and from our deliberations is both about setting goals for our institution and about taking a practical look at the work that needs to be done to make UPEI an even better place to live and learn. We used the directions listed in the strategic plan as our starting point and will be using our various feedback mechanisms to contextualize those directions and uncover new and interesting directions for our university. In the coming months, we encourage you to participate in the academic planning process, both during formal events and through direct communication with any of the members of the committee. Each item of feedback will be considered in the development of the Academic Plan. We are working towards a plan that we can use to help shape our future directions and make real immediate change to our University. During these consultations, we will consider some of the more complex elements and shape the document accordingly. Due to the number of cancellations due to weather, we have delayed the submission of program reviews to May 31, 2015.
