Public workshop about ticks and Lyme disease on PEI - September 25

Nature PEI and the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI, will co-present a public workshop called “Tick Talk: The threat of Lyme disease in PEI” on Thursday, September 25, at 7:00 pm in the AVC Lecture Theatre A. A serious illness that spreads to humans and pets from the bite of infected ticks, Lyme disease is on the rise in Canada. Dr. Vett Lloyd, Department of Biology, Mount Allison University, and Dr. Barb Horney, Department of Pathology and Microbiology, AVC, will talk about the symptoms of Lyme disease, how it is transmitted, treatments available, and prevention for you and your pets.
