As a reminder, information regarding personal protective equipment (PPE) is available in the UPEI Laboratory Safety Manual in Section 4: https://files.upei.ca/hr/hs_part1laboratorysafetymanual.pdf - Section 4.6 (p.43) discusses protective clothing in laboratory settings such as pants, shirts, and lab coats as being necessary to prevent skin from being exposed to chemical/biological agents (long skirts close to the ankle would also cover the legs safely). - Section 4.8.1 (p.47) indicates that suitable footwear for labs must cover and protect the entire foot. - As a rule of thumb for eye protection: if there's anything that you or others in your area are working with that you would not want in your eye, then wear eye protection. Visitors to higher risk areas, such as laboratories, need to be properly oriented to lab/hazards and must follow the procedures for that area.
