"Healing through Story" -- an evening with master storyteller Laura Simms

Join Laura Simms, an award-winning performer, writer, and educator for an evening of storytelling on Thursday, February 6 at 4:30 pm in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, room 242. Laura received the Brimstone Award for Engaged Storytelling, CHOICE award for best story collection, and Sesame Street’s SUNNY DAYS award for work with children worldwide. Laura is the mother of Ishmael Beah, former child solider in Sierra Leone, and author of A Long Way Gone, an international best-seller. A reception with refreshments will follow. Tickets are $20 and include admission, light refreshments, and one drink ticket per person. A portion of every ticket sold will be used to raise funds for the Dr. Vianne Timmons International Student Award. Visit upei.ca/idw to purchase tickets.
