Public Administration

The Public Administration program is an innovative program designed for an interdisciplinary understanding of public administration, with a class schedule attractive to both the working professional and the full-time student. Leading to a certificate or diploma, the program offers enough flexibility so the student can choose to focus in one area, or take a range of courses in a relevant field.

Who is the program for?

Although the program is open to all qualified candidates, it is specifically designed for those working in the municipal, provincial, or federal civil service who wish to have the education required for more senior-level administration and management positions. Every effort is made to schedule required classes at a time convenient to the working professional.

Program Objectives

  • to develop, along with specific skills, an understanding of the interpersonal and interorganizational roles of an individual within the public service
  • to assist in the training and development of individuals for policy and administrative positions in the public service
  • equip individuals with knowledge and techniques for efficient and effective decision-making
