Campus Energy Conservation – Easter Weekend

Posting Date(s)
Please take a few moments before leaving for the long weekend to turn off any unnecessary equipment (e.g. computers, monitors, printers, speakers, etc). The reduced loads improve overall campus energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. A period of closure for the University offers a great opportunity to save money on utilities. Past history has shown that very few people occupy the buildings for any substantial time during the holidays. With this in mind, buildings will be heated/cooled according to University Temperature Guidelines (http://www.upei.ca/facilities/sustainability/energy-management/guidelin…) during the Easter weekend with the assumption that buildings are unoccupied. The exception will be buildings that contain special collections or sensitive equipment, or buildings that are officially open during the holidays.
