Minimal Risk Contracts

The minimal risk contract can be used if the following conditions exist:

  1. The contract has a pre-tax value of $2,500 or greater;
  2. The contractor is a sole proprietor (individual) or a partnership; and
  3. The contract meets the Minimal Risk Engagement guidelines, which means NONE of the following conditions can exist:
    1. Minors are involved
    2. Travel of University employees or students
    3. Physical activity is involved
    4. Alcohol is involved
    5. The person providing the service is a UPEI employee (please contact Human Resources)

Templates:

1. Minimal Risk Contract (Sole Proprietor) - Contractor is an individual, partnership or an unincorporated business and meets the minimal risk requirements.

2. International Minimal Risk Contract (Sole Proprietor) - International Contractor is an individual, partnership or an unincorporated business and meets the minimal risk requirements.

There are detailed instructions contained in the .pdf document linked below each template to assist in the preparation of the contract. Before submitting a contract to the Comptroller’s Office, please ensure the instructions to complete the contract have been followed and completed. Incomplete contracts will not be signed and may create delays in the contract process. Any questions or concerns in regards to preparing a Fee for Service contract should be directed to the Manager, Contracts and Insurance.
