Finance Officer - Comptrollers Office
Commensurate with qualifications
July 19, 2021 until August 31, 2022 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements)
The Comptroller’s Office is seeking applications for a Finance Officer. Reporting to the Comptroller, this position will be responsible for the following duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparation of financial analysis and reports with attention to details and deadlines, including:
- Data queries using various software
- Building new report templates
- Account analysis and reconciliations
- Preparation of journal entries
- Preparation of year end working papers
- Support year-end audit processes
- Preparation of external reporting documents
- Provide support to budget processes, including:
- Preparation and review of budget reports
- Assisting in budget costings
- Preparation of budget changes
- Communicate with budget holders as necessary
- Other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Business degree with concentration in accounting
- A professional designation would be an asset, but is not required
- 3 years related experience
- Experience in audit working paper preparation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
- Ability to remember numerous details, both qualitative and quantitative
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet, data analysis software and other business software
