Summer Student - Department of Pathology & Microbiology - Atlantic Veterinary College * Amended Closing Date*

The Department of Pathology and Microbiology, Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a summer student position in aquaculture virology under the Canada Summer Jobs 2017 project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The incumbent will assist on a project studying aquatic animal viruses of finfish. The successful candidate will use fish cell lines to isolate, propagate, and titrate fish viruses; maintain and preserve fish cell lines; perform immunology assays such as SN, ELISA, IHC, FAT and western blots
• Other duties will be assigned depending on available time away from the project and on other research projects underway in the lab
QUALIFICATIONS:
• The student must have completed at least four academic terms of a biochemistry or microbiology honours/major program or first year of DVM program
