The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications from UPEI students who are interested in demonstrating and/or marking Biology courses for the Winter 2021 semester:

The courses include:

Botany (Bio 2020), Microbiology (Bio 2060), Cell and Molecular Biology (Bio 2210), Genetics I (Bio 2230), Genetics II (Bio 3230), Molecular Biology Techniques (Bio 3520), Human Physiology and Pathophysiology (Bio 4010)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include:

  • Could include demonstrating, assisting with labs and/or tutorials, and the marking of exams and assignments; most class activities will be conducted online although some labs will be in-person
  • The successful applicants will be required to participate on a weekly basis for the duration of the Winter semester (usually 3-5 hours per lab per week)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must possess good communication skills
  • Be WHMIS trained or be willing to take the training
  • Must have knowledge of the course material and have an acceptable academic record (min. 2.7 GPA)

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
