This position is being funded through the Federal Government's Canada Summer Jobs Program. Eligibility criteria are set by the program.

Under the mentorship of the Manager of Research Services at UPEI, the Research Services Business and Usability Student Assistant will be responsible to review and assess requirements for forms used within the data repository.  This includes ensuring the user needs and business requirements are defined.  Additionally, the Intern will review the layout, flow and usability of the form and identify potential improvements to enhance the design layout to optimize data input.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with the Research Services Team, interview stakeholders on the data collected and requirements
  • Document requirements for future reference in a repository
  • Test and validate usability of the form
  • Test modifications based on layout, flow and usability
  • Present design decisions Research Services Team

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Student must have completed year two of either Business or Computer Science program in Post-Secondary education
  • Student should have strong work ethic with attention to detail
  • Student must have experience with MS Office Suite

Eligibility Criteria for Canada Summer Jobs:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulation
